Doom ‘Unto the Evil’ Multiplayer DLC Now Available

This expansionof Doom delivers three new multiplayer maps, Cataclysm, Offering and Ritual, as well as a new weapon, the UAC EMG Pistol, new equipment in the Kinetic Mine and the ability to play as the Harvester demon. Other extras include new armor sets, colors, patterns, taunts and even a new hack module.

Deathmatch fanatics can also add new equipment to their online arsenal this week, including a Kinectic Mine that detonates when players on the opposing team approach its vicinity. Also arriving as part of this week’s expansion is the UAC EMG Pistol, a weapon that makes up for its low damage rate by giving players unlimited ammo.

Anyone diving into Doom‘s multiplayer modes for the first time this weekend will want to keep an eye out for a new enemy creature rolling out as part of Bethesda’s latest DLC. Players who purchase Unto the Evil can assume control of the Harvester, a Summoner-like demon that boasts an array of unique attacks.

Doom is available across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The DLC is available right now (August 5).

“Many studios have moved away from releasing multiplayer maps as premium DLC in recent years, so it’s surprising to see id sticking with it. That is to say, that if their goal is to get people hooked on Doom multiplayer, then fracturing the community is bad form. id and Bethesda do seem aware of this, however, as a feature will be implemented allowing players to access the maps if they are grouped with friends who own it. Perhaps that’s enough to make fans happy.”
