Blake Jorgensen, CFO of Electronic Arts, dropped some pretty big news concerning three heavy hitter franchises during Morgan Stanley’s Technology, Media & Telecom Conference. After being asked about the current status of the publisher’s larger intellectual properties that are not sports related, Jorgensen stated that Mass Effect Andromeda will be delayed until EA’s fourth fiscal quarter. It is worth noting that EA’s fourth quarter actually ends on March 31, 2017. With that, ME Andromeda could possibly see release during early 2017. Bioware’s next sci-fi outing was originally supposed to be ready for a holiday season release this year.

Jorgensen also confirmed that Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is still going to meet its first EA quarter deadline, but also made mention of both Battlefield 5 and Titanfall 2. Apparently, both are going to hit the market during EA’s third fiscal quarter. Seeing that this coming holiday season is nestled within that time frame, it could be safe to assume that both could launch then. While Titanfall 2 has been a known quantity for a while, there has been a little bit of mystery around Battlefield 5. There have been rumblings that suggest the next large scale DICE shooter will be taking place during The Great War. This is a huge thematic departure from the current modern military shooter craze of today and the World War 2 obsession of yesteryear. With it possibly being pushed for a Q3 release, it is hard to believe there is still little information pertaining to this title. Hopefully more will be shared on these projects at this year’s E3.
