When you look back at 2018, there a bunch of masterpieces that make it so tough to choose the best one out of them. In a year that Red Dead Redemption 2 took us to the world of outlaws with a dramatic story and unforgettable characters, Santa Monica revived God of War with great and ambitious journey to the Norse. Along with these two badass hits, Spider-Man from Insomniac could be the best game of a Marvel superhero until today, and let’s mention Super Mario Smash Bros. as one of the greatest fighting games of last year and absolutely the most successful exclusive title of Nintendo Switch in 2018.
Well, as I said before, it’s really hard to choose the best game out these titles and by adding some creative indie games to the list above, it’s get even tougher. However, BAFTA Game Awards decided to unveil the top games of 2018, last night. While Red Dead Redemption 2 won nothing, God of War swept five important prizes including Best Game, Best Music, Best Narrative, Best Audio Design and Best Performance which handed to Jeremy Davis.
Aside from Santa Monica’s fantastic night, other categories saw some unpredictable choices, as Best Multiplayer award handed to A Way Out and Yoku’s Island Express won the prize for Best Debut Game.
