After 50 years of staying in the entertainment industry, Konami has decided to celebrate by releasing three unique collections of the classics that best highlights their glory years. After a leak last week revealed Konami might be bringing a Castlevania collection over to modern consoles, a recent announcement confirmed that Konami plans to release not one, but three new collections which will house an abundance of hit titles from the 80s and 90s, like Contra, Castlevania and more.
The first collection is titled Arcade Classics and will feature eight arcade games from the Konami library. Other than all titles revealed for the collection, the Konami website also states that they are “enhanced with modern features”. Here are all eight titles in the Arcade Classics collection:
The second is the Castlevania Anniversary Collection which, you guessed it, focuses on the action-adventure series, Castlevania. With four of the eight titles currently announced, this old-school pack is said to only include the origins of the series. Check out the first half of the collection currently announced below:
The final collection is the shoot em’ up series, Contra. The Contra Anniversary Collection again features eight titles, however, much like the Castlevania collection, only four of them have been revealed. Check out the four titles confirmed so far for the Contra collection:
The three anniversary collections will be released on separate dates, with the first being the Arcade Classics on April 18, 2019. Both the Castlevania and Contra collections are scheduled for an early summer release. All three collections are releasing on the PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC.
