It’s the beginning of March, which means another month of games. There are so many games coming out that it’s difficult to keep track of all of them. Therefore, we have listed the five most anticipated games scheduled to release this March. This is not an opinionated list. The ranking was constructed based on Google Trends (specifically looking at worldwide search trends from the past month) and what games the majority of people are looking forward to the most. Without further ado, let’s jump into it.
5. Tchia
Initially, Tchia appears to be a rudimentary game for kids, but upon closer examination, it may actually be an open-world game with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild freedom and interesting physics. Specifically, Tchia is an open world inspired by Caledonia that basks in the culture of the area. You play as Tchia who has the ability to soul jump, allowing her to turn into any object or animal. Each transformation comes with a different move set that affects exploration and combat. The soul of Tchia is exploration. There are no boundaries to where you can climb, fly, swim, or glide. Tchia launches on PS4 PS5 and Pc on March 21. On day one, it will also be available for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers.
4. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty
It’s scary when a new game comes out and tries to imitate some of the best games ever made. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is an original take on the Souls genre. Often these imitations fail to capture the magic of their inspiration. It’s fortunate then that Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty boasts talented team members such as Fumihiko Yasuda, producer for Nioh, and Masaaki Yamagiwa, producer of Bloodborne. The game follows a militia soldier who survives a dark fantasy version of the three kingdoms with his swordsmanship skills. Players will have full reign over how their character looks and their combat style. Gaming Instincts gave it a 9 out of 10 and praised it for being challenging, rewarding, and fresh. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty launches on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on March 3. It is also coming on day one to Xbox Game Pass.
3. Anno 1800
Anno 1800 is a celebrated real-time strategy city builder from Ubisoft that was released in 2019. It was set during the industrial revolution where players could manage everything from local politics to the individual lives of citizens. The game also gave players the freedom to innovate or exploit as they built a city in the New World. Now console players will finally get to see what all the hype is about when Anno 1800 releases for PS5 and Xbox Series X on March 16.
2. WWE 2K23
It’s another year and another wrestling game. This time around, though, fans have a right to be excited. This is because WWE 2K22 was a return to form for the series, essentially putting the franchise back on track. Now, WWE 2K23 is expected to continue what the series is known for while adding some additional features and modes. For instance, MyRise Showcase, Universe Mode and My GM are all returning. The showcase mode, specifically, will have you playing as several of John Cena’s enemies as they try to take him down. The game will feature a roster of 170 plus playable characters including Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn, Rhea Ripley, and Ronda Rousey. WWE 2K23 launches on March 17 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
1. Resident Evil 4 Remake
When constructing this list, it was obvious that Resident Evil 4 Remake would be the winner. It blew every other March game out of the water when it came to the number of Google searches. That’s no surprise when the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes were so good. They captured the unique qualities of the originals while adapting and innovating certain elements to modernize the games. Not to mention, Resident Evil 4 is one of the best Resident Evil games. Along with graphical and performance improvements, the remake is also getting overhauled with enhanced features and enemies. For example, the knife will have parry functionality. There will be optional side quests, and probably best of all, a revamped Ashley. Resident Evil 4 Remake launches on March 24 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
