Blizzard Discusses the Posibility of Cross-Play on Diablo III
Recently a representative from Blizzard Entertainment had a conversation with Business Insider, when was asked if Diablo III would feature cross-play ability, his response was that cross-play is, “a question of when, not if.”
This obviously generated a great source of excitement in the vast user base of Diablo III, with the game being released on Mac, PC, PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, Xbox One and soon Nintendo Switch on November 2nd.
But now Blizzard Entertainment has given their official statement on behalf of the company:
“While we love the idea of bringing our players together across platforms, we do not have any plans to implement cross-platform gameplay for Diablo at this time.”

“Back in late September, Sony backtracked on their initial stance on cross-play between Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, to the dismay of many PlayStation gamers. Shawn Layden recently spoke about the company’s decision via the PlayStation Blogcast giving players some insight into the whole situation. The quick turnaround was surprising, considering one of Sony’s first responses to outrage back in early September the company’s chief executive, Kenichiro Yoshida, said that they believed PS4 to be “the best place to play.”
