A Crash Team Racing Remaster Could be Announced Soon

We could see a return of the cult classic game CTR: Crash Team Racing soon, as PlayStation Access presenter Hollie Bennett teased a photo on her Twitter feed of a pair of orange furry dice, the kind of accessory that is commonly found hanging on a car’s rear-view mirror. Alongside the dice, was also a note that read: “Sliding into the Game Awards on 6/12,” signed by an anonymous sender.

Check out the Twitter post by PlayStation Access presenter Hollie Bennett, featuring the dice and message that was sent to her:

This package is very similar to the one that was sent to IGN, teasing the release of the Spyro the Dragon Trilogy remaster. So, there’s a high chance that this is indeed a tease of CTR before it is officially announced by Activision on the Video Game Awards 2018 this week. If this is the case, it will be awesome news for all the fans of this popular game.

Eurogamer said in an article on their website:

“Eurogamer understands this tease to be the real deal, and Activision will make its CTR remake official later this week. It’s no Mario Kart, but it’ll keep us busy until Nintendo hits the track next.

Originally released for the PlayStation 1 in 1999, CTR Crash Team Racing was developed by Naughty Dog, which would later find greater fame with Uncharted and The Last of Us. As with Crash Bandicoot, CTR was a PlayStation exclusive. Crash’s trilogy remaster launched on PlayStation 4 first before other platforms, so it’ll be interesting to see if CTR HD follows the same pattern. Regardless, it makes sense why PlayStation Access has been sent a tease for it now.

Activision declined to comment when contacted by Eurogamer.”
