Pearl Abyss, the Korean developer behind Black Desert Online (BDO), has announced that Black Desert Mobile (BDM) will be launching for iOS and Android worldwide on December 11, 2019 after achieving more than three million game pre-registrations.
The registrations were the result of an initial soft launch on Android in seven countries. The grand launch for BDM will include new gameplay features and support for nine languages.
In an effort to promote the upcoming BDM launch, Pearl Abyss is rewarding those who pre-register through the official BDM website with a free copy of Black Desert on supported consoles or PC.
Moreover, players may pre-register on the Google Play Store or pre-order on the iOS App Store.
First launched in South Korea on July 14, 2015, BDO is a sandbox-oriented fantasy MMORPG developed by Pearl Abyss and originally only available on PC. The game released in North America and Europe on March 3, 2016.
Since 2018, the title has been known as Black Desert Remastered and is also known simply as Black Desert on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles (console versions launched in 2019—August 22 and March 4, respectively).
Initially, BDO could only be acquired through the game’s official website, but users could begin acquiring it through Steam as of May 24, 2017. While the game is free-to-play, it does support microtransactions that offer in-game boosts and cosmetic items.
Pearl Abyss was established in 2010 and has gained renown for their games’ graphics. In addition, the company has three new projects in the works, but has not given much information regarding any of them. Furthermore, all of the company’s games run on a proprietary engine, including Black Desert and any future projects.
