Epic Games GeForce NOW

Epic Games Pledge Its Support to Nvidia GeForce Now

NVIDIA’s Geforce NOW has been suffering from ‘misunderstandings’ in agreements made with publishers and IPs owners, this has inevitably caused the service to miss games from renowned developers, games from Capcom, Activison Blizzard, Bethesda and Square Enix are now missing in the streaming service. But Epic Games’ Tim Sweeney has stated his support and his company to NVIDIA. Tim Sweeney also said that GeForce NOW is the most “developer-friendly and publisher-friendly” service and game companies should be supporting NVIDIA.

Epic Games will now work closely with NVIDIA and make agreements to bring Epic’s catalog to the new streaming service.

Epic is wholeheartedly supporting NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW service with Fortnite and with Epic Games Store titles that choose to participate (including exclusives), and we’ll be improving the integration over time. (Geforce NOW) It’s the most developer-friendly and publisher-friendly of the major streaming services, with zero tax on game revenue. Game companies who want to move the game industry towards a healthier state for everyone should be supporting this kind of service!

Cloud streaming services will also be key players in ending the iOS and Google Play payment monopolies and their 30% taxes. Apple has decreed that these services aren’t allowed to exist on iOS, and therefore aren’t allowed to compete, which is megalomaniacal and won’t stand. Just waiting till later this year when Google is lobbying against Apple for blocking Stadia from iOS, while Google blocks GeForce NOW, xCloud, and Fortnite from Google Play, and this whole rotten structure begins collapsing in on itself.

Like Phil Spencer often says to his team

, there are 2 billion players around the world, and streaming service is the way to reach all of them, companies are fighting each other to become the ‘Netflix’ of videogames. An interesting streaming war has already started, PlayStation Now punched first, but it seems like Sony don’t have all the tools to compete with the likes of Microsoft, Google and Amazon, the Japanese manufacturer has decided that a partnership with Microsoft would be more beneficial, both companies have agreed to collaborate, in this deal Sony secured the rights to use Microsoft’s Azure technology.

xCloud and Stadia are the emerging platforms, for the moment the Microsoft’s service looks more established, while Stadia has practically nothing to offer to subscribers. Indie developers had stated Google is not offering enough incentives to tempt them to join Stadia, Google on the other hand has established a new studio with the leadership of God of War’s Executive Producer Shannon Studstill, Google will push for new IPs that will be Stadia exclusive and attract to more players to the service.
