GSC Game World has just revealed the first screenshot of the highly anticipated S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, the game is the direct sequel survival horror shooter game based in the nuclear disaster of Pripyat. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is expected to follow the events that took place at Shadow of Chernobyl. The franchise is known for delivering an unique combination of First-Person Shooter (FPS) and Survival-Horror action.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl tells the events after a second explosion at the Chernobyl power plant, the game features a creepy, open-world environment around a dystopian Pripyat. It’s expected that, GSC Game World will keep the same setup for the sequel of the highly acclaimed game, a PC release and a dystopian Pripyat infested with mutated beings and all kind of horrific creatures that would keep players on the edge of their seat. The unveiled screenshot doesn’t tell much about the game, but it is confirmed that, Pripyat will get even more scary, radioactive and creepier for the next installment of the horror-apocalyptic franchise.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was announced back in 2010, but due to unconfirmed circumstances, the project was cancelled in 2012, news about plans to bring the sequel alive was shared in 2018, at that time, GSC Game World revealed that the upcoming project would be based on Unreal Engine 4 and would be scheduled for a 2021 release.
GSC Game World has released an official announcement about the sequel of S.T.A.L.K.E.R, it reads as follows:
