Techland promised more Dying Light 2 information to be revealed soon, however, what has been revealed is not promising as the project has just another key member of its development team.
Pawel Selinger, former Lead Art Director and Writer for Dying Light 2 and a 22 year veteran of the studio announced his departure from the company on a Linkedin page:
“After over twenty-two years, I decided to end my cooperation with Techland. I would like to express my gratitude to the company that has allowed me to develop and fulfill myself for half my life. Techland, I will always be rooting for you, as well as the great people I have met thanks to you.”
Pawel Selinger, is the second member of Dying Light 2 to leave Techland following the exit of Chris Avallone last year, who was dismissed due to heavy allegations of sexual misconduct.
A year ago, Techland’s CEO Pawel Marchewka announced that due to the development team’s ambitions, the Dying Light was delayed until 2021.
We apologize for this unwelcome news. Our priority is to deliver an experience which lives up to our own high standards and to the expectations of you, our fans. Please stay tuned, and thank you to our fans around the world for your continued support, patience, and understanding.
Dying Light 2’s
story takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, 15 years after the events of Dying Light. It’s confirmed by Techland that players will be able to make “impactful choices”. Some decisions have a much bigger influence that affects the whole world of the game, like the final choice of the player that leads to the revival of a new form of zombies in a new region of the city.
Players take the role of Aiden Caldwell one of the survivalists living within one of the seven regions of the city. The mission starts with Aiden getting informed about the water pumps have been turned off by Colonel. A leader who controls an island near to the city with a bad reputation which means asking him to turn on the pumps doesn’t end in peace.
