InnerSloth confirmed today at the Xbox Showcase that Among Us Airship Map will arrive on March 31. The independent developer also confirmed that the party game will release soon on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles with cross-play support.
This free update will have all new tasks, the ability to pick the room you start in, ladders, a basic account system for moderation and… more?! (Some new free hats as thanks for being so patient with us perhaps?! 👀)
InnerSloth also revealed more details about the Airship map – the biggest map to be featured in Among Us. The new map also introduces a new kill animation and new tasks.
“Considering how our game started as nothing more than a small, local, mobile-only experience, it is so cool to us that it’ll be coming to Xbox consoles and Xbox Game Pass with online and local multiplayer,” Says InnerSloth on a blog post.
For those who haven’t tried Among Us is one of the biggest hits of 2020, the game dominated the charts and entertained millions of players alleviating the negative effects of social distancing and self-isolation. The game has reached half a billion players and the addition to Xbox’s ecosystem will only make the game even greater and more fun.
Here is an overview of the game via Xbox:
Among Us is all about communication, teamwork, betrayal, and deceit. While everyone is fixing up the ship, no one can talk. However, once a body is reported or a meeting is called, the surviving crew will openly debate who they think The Impostor is. Meanwhile, The Impostor’s goal is to pretend they are a member of the crew and blame someone else. If The Impostor is not voted off, everyone goes back to maintaining the ship until another meeting is called. If The Impostor is voted off, the crew wins!
