Microsoft Flight Simulator Performance Patch Is Now Live

Asobo Studio, the development team of Microsoft Flight Simulator has released a new performance patch for the PC and Xbox Series X|S version of the game.

According to Asobo Studios, the following issues are addressed in the latest update for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

  • Performance optimizations when flying close to large airports such as Dallas-Ft Worth (KDFW)
  • Performance optimizations of server requests when in the menus and during flight

The development team affirms that the fix may not address all performance-related issues, however, the extensive patch will help many users get back to flying with optimal performance. Asobo is encouraging all users to provide feedback on this patch and help them continue to improve the simulator performance with each future update.

Thank you so much for your continued engagement and feedback! Because of your feedback on performance/framerate issues we have been better able to diagnose the underlying problems.

On Microsoft Flight Simulator’s related news, a modder has added the ship blockage of the Suez Canal on the simulator, players are now able to flight above the canal and see the situation.

The faithful representation of the disaster was posted on TikTok by the user, donut_enforcement. In the short video, the user makes an “announcement” as the plane’s pilot, stating that the passengers should buckle up as they’re about to go down for a flyby in the Suez Canal to take a glimpse at the disaster.

The meme video built on Microsoft Flight Simulator was noticed and tweeted by Mat Velloso, a technical advisor of Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella. Nadella makes some harmless jokes about the serious situation and encourages users to keep making viral videos and mods for the game.
