Almost three years ago, there was an under-development project at Radiant Entertainment known as Rising Thunder. A fighting title that was being made by some of the genre’s veterans and an EVO co-founder. However, the project cancelled when Riot Games bought-out the studio in 2016. Well, definitely I haven’t mentioned to this story without any points. You want to hear good news? The project has been revived.
During EVO 2019, the world’s most famous tournament for fighting games, Tom Cannon appeared on the stage and confirmed the development of a fighting game for Riot Games at Radiant Entertainment. Imagine all League of Legends’ heroes with greatly detailed models within a fighting title, the idea is insane. Cannon said:
Back in 2016 when we joined forces with Riot, I said that we would go in the hole for a while. The reason why we did Rising Thunder in the first place, is that we felt like fighting games deserve to be enjoyed by way more people.
League of Legends is currently one of the most played online titles of the world on PC with its own big tournaments being held all around the world. While the platforms haven’t been specified for the upcoming fighting game from Riot Games and Radiant, regarding its genre, the game might hit consoles as well as PC.
