[et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text”]A Plague Tale: Requiem, the upcoming game from Asobo Studio and the sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence, may finally have a release date. Though the developers have not announced or confirmed anything officially, the date seems to have accidentally been leaked by the Microsoft Store. The UK Xbox store recently updated the page for the game, and it currently has the release date of June 17th, 2021. The year is obviously wrong, but could be fixed in the near future to reflect the correct year. Of course, this could also just be a placeholder date, so until either Asobo Studio or publisher Focus Entertainment announces an official date this should be taken with a grain of salt.

This announcement could be coming soon. The trophy list for the game was also recently leaked, and according to the leak the PSN Store Database has the game listed for release on May 17th, 2022. Once again, these dates could be placeholders and are subject to change. However, if they are correct, then we can probably expect an official announcement sooner than later.

A Plague Tale: Innocence released in 2019, which chronicles the story of Amicia and Hugo de Rune as they flee from soldiers of the French Inquisition along with hordes of rats that spread the black plague. A Plague Tale: Requiem is a direct sequel to Innocence, picking up the story a few years after the first with an older Amicia and Hugo. After escaping their devastated homeland, Amicia and Hugo travel far south, to new regions and vibrant cities. There, they attempt to start a new life and control Hugo’s curse. But, when Hugo’s powers reawaken, death and destruction return in a flood of devouring rats. Forced to flee once more, the siblings place their hopes in a prophesized island that may hold the key to saving Hugo.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is set to release on next gen systems (PS5 and Xbox Series X|S) and PC.
