Greg Fishbach announced today that he will return to the video games industry with a new publishing company called Accelerate Games.
Fishman is a veteran in the industry for the co-founder of Acclaim Entertainment, a publisher known for being the publisher of the original Mortal Kombat, NBA Jam. Acclaim Entertainment also retained the IPs of the highly successful Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX and ATV: Quad Power Racing.
The vision of Accelerate Games has been described on the publisher’s official website.
Accelerate specializes in publishing indie titles and focuses on working together with our studio partners. We only select a limited number of games to publish because we are dedicated to each and every title. We understand independent studios have worked tirelessly over the course of years to build their games and it is up to us to add value and continue the process through launch, live operations, sequels, franchises and beyond.
Publishing is a people driven business and we stay true to it.
Accelerate Games wants to establish long-term, collaborative relationships with studios, the first studio to receive the support of the publisher is Signal Studios, a development team working on its Toy Soldiers game scheduled to launch in 2021 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
“What we love about Toy Soldiers is it combines historical accuracies, hardcore action and strategy, and humor with infectious fun gameplay,” Fischbach said. “The game’s off-the-charts replayability and multiplayer features are sure to recapture the attention of previous enlisted fans and recruit an army of new ones.”
Signal Studio’s relationship with Accelerate Games is already a close one, one of the owners of the studio is also a co-founder of Accelerate. John Chao is one of the co-founders of the new publisher, he is the former chief strategy and data officer for Rabbit Inc.
