Activision Hints at Future Crash and Spyro Titles

A recent investors earnings reports from Activision detailed the ongoing success from the Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon remasters. The earnings reports highlighted the areas where these recent nostalgic successes have earned praise from the community for both allowing older players relive their youth, while introducing a newer generation to the platforming classics.

President of Activision, Rob Kostich, not only explained that more remasters in the same vein of what we’ve already seen could be on their way, but also new IP from the series as well. This means that Activision could be planning to not only release more classic remasters, but create new titles utilizing the same engines and designs from the N. Sane Trilogy and Reignited Trilogy.

“When you look at our IP library, we think there’s a lot of IP in there the fans are going to want to experience again(…)I’d say stay tuned for some future announcements, but just beyond pure remasters, there are also a lot of opportunities now to innovate and think about totally new content within these IPs.” – Rob Kostich

While remastering more of the classic titles in both of those series could be exciting, there’s very little left on the table in terms of quality favorites. With the most recent release being the beloved Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, could we see a true Mario Party competitor with a Crash Bash remaster next? Or, perhaps Activision will skip the remaster idea for the time and being simply focus on bringing a new, deeper experience into either one (or both) of the iconic series.

Currently, fans are able to get their hands on the original trilogy for both the Crash Bandicoot series (Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy) and the Spyro the Dragon series (Spyro Reignited Trilogy) along with the racing gem Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled.
