E3 2019 is closer than what you see in the calendar, don’t believe it? Just look at the news that we post every day about the upcoming event and be rest assured that more information and leaks are to come in following days. For now, add Activision to the list of yours that you’d previously written Sony in there, as the publisher behind Call of Duty series won’t have any booths at this year’s event.
Talking to Game Industry, Activision has announced that it won’t have any stages at E3 2019 and obviously there will be no press conference to watch and no demoes for the fans to play. However, it doesn’t mean that Activision won’t be at E3 2019. The publisher clarified that it would like to talk to press and it will take meetings there too.
Activision skipping its stage at this year’s E3 doesn’t matter so much, as the publisher tends to announce its title in bigger shows like Sony’s or Microsoft’s press conference during recent years. With Sony not attending at the event this year, there are rumors that Activision will giveaway more details on the next Call of Duty title at Microsoft’s event, however the company won’t fully skip E3 this year, as its panel has been added to the E3 Coliseum, but further details could come out in other events through 2019 like Gamescom, Paris Game Week or even PSX.
The new entry in Call of Duty franchise will be announced before until the end of June and most of the rumors suggest that more than likely it would be Modern Warfare 4.
