Two years ago in the same month Microsoft officially revealed Age of Empires 4 with a cinematic trailer and since then we haven’t heard any new word on the game. While two E3 events passed in silence for Age of Empires 4, fans were expecting to see a new trailer from the game at its second anniversary of announcement, but again, nothing happened. However, Aaron Greenberg hinted us for a surprised at X019, which will be held on the same day that Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition is going to launch.
When Aaron Greenberg was asked by a German site on when the new details for Age of Empires 4 will be coming out, the marketing manager of Xbox didn’t mention an exact date for it, but he pointed out X019 as the company’s next important event that will be bigger than X018 with more interesting information to be shared. The event starts on September 14 with a press conference and ends on September 16 in London.
Aside from Age of Empires 4, there some rumors on X019 suggesting a new announcement from Ninja Theory for a single-player story-driven game. The expo is also a good opportunity for Microsoft to share more trailer from games like The Outer Worlds, Wasteland 3 and Bleeding Edge, which will get its first official gameplay some hours later. Also, Microsoft’s new acquisition, Double Fine, has pushed back Psychonauts 2 into the next year, but they can make the community happy with a new trailer from the game. At the end, some new details on Xbox Scarlett are also expected to be unveiled in X019 as Phil Spencer has previously said the next-gen console will support current-gen controllers and cross-gen play.
