Aground is Live on Kickstarter

Fancy Fish Games announced the launch of their mining, crafting and survival game Aground on Kickstarter. The campaign will raise funds to develop the very popular free version of the game into a full release with much more content, with an end goal of including interplanetary travel!

Check out the gameplay trailer of Aground, featuring some gameplay footage:

“The free version of the game, which is currently available on web portals such as KongregateNewgrounds, and Armor Games, has continued to draw thousands of plays every day, now with well over a million plays total, and top ratings on all portals.

Aground was designed to incorporate the fun of creation and discovery offered by games like Starbound and Terraria, and combine it with the slow and steady build-up of new features and mechanics in games like A Dark Room.

The team aims to keep players continually surprised, with exciting new options opening up around every corner. By the end of the game, even though there will be a lot of systems and complexity, since everything has been built up bit-by-bit, it will all be easily manageable.

The team has also been strongly committed to incorporating player feedback and making the game a community effort from the very beginning. “As indies, we want players to feel like they can connect with us and be a part of this project in a very real way.” says project lead David Maletz. “And the Kickstarter campaign is the perfect way to facilitate that involvement.” He adds.

Currently the campaign is nearly 35% funded, and will be live until March 2nd, 2018.
