Available to buy separately, or as part of the XCOM 2 Reinforcement Pack, Alien Hunters DLC features a narrative-driven mission, new weapons and armor, a new Hunter’s Lodge facility in the Avenger, plus three new “Ruler” alien units to combat, available now on Mac and Linux.
Watch the Alien Hunters DLC trailer of XCOM 2:
Ruler aliens will show up at random during a campaign and they are highly intelligent: each has its own unique behavior and tactics. If you can’t take out a Ruler quick enough, it will escape to fight another day.
The four new weapons are one-of-a-kind. There’s the Bolt Caster, a high damage single-shot weapon; the Hunter’s Axe, a powerful blade weapon that can be thrown at enemies or used to dispatch foes at close range; the Frost Bomb grenade, which can temporarily freeze targets; and the ShadowKeeper pistol, which grants its user the Shadowfall ability, an ability that guarantees a hit and places its user in concealment if the target is killed.
Three new suits of armor can also be constructed, one from each of the alien Ruler corpses, and will endow the wearer with unique tactical abilities. The Icarus Suit, for example, is outfitted with powerful boosters enabling its wearer to fly around the map.
Alien Hunters is available from Steam and the Feral Store priced US $9.99/£7.99/€9.99.
Alien Hunters requires XCOM 2 to play and is available from Steam and the Feral Store. If you already own the Reinforcement Pack or the XCOM 2: Digital Deluxe Edition, do not purchase this DLC separately as you will be charged for it.
