Housemarque’s sci-fi spiritual successor to its omni-directional shooter Dead Nation is looking better than ever and the small development studio has some great news concerning it. Alienation, a Playstation 4 exclusive, is touting itself to be an even more over-the-top experience than its undead predecessor and it is set to launch this April 26 worldwide.
The latest trailer of the game from Housemarque really shows the aesthetic advantages of taking its proven omni-directional shooter formula and applying it to a sci-fi setting. It has all of the visual electricity of Dead Nation, but the usage of colors in Alienation is a whole other story. A lot of awesome pastel and cool colors abound with the title’s particle effects and it is not something you see everyday. It also still maintains the insane explosive set pieces that contribute to one’s sensory overload which is comforting.
The only unfortunate aspect is that the trailer only shows the action without touching on that fact that Alienation feature an array of character classes and cool persistence or RPG leveling system. It would have been nice to also see how the loot system is going to work. Regardless, it looks as though the studio has nailed the visuals and the gameplay down and that is half the battle as far as development goes.
As of today, Alienation is currently available on the Playstation Store for Pre-order for 17.99 USD as part of a sale that knocks 10% off the normal price for early buyers. After the game launches it will go back to its original original price of 19.99 USD.
Includes several titles.
