Amazon’s Crucible Is Back Into Closed Beta

Crucible

is Amazon’s bet to enter the gaming industry, the company tasked Relentless Studios who launched the game a month ago but due to several problems in the game, it was announced today, that Crucible is back into the development stage. The game is now officially back to its Closed Beta status.

In early June, Relentless Studios announced the removal of two of the three supported modes, the main problem of Crucible is that it did not attract enough attention in the gaming community.

Here is the official announcement of the unreleasing of the game:

For the most part, your experience as a Crucible player will stay pretty much the same while we’re in beta. One of the biggest changes you’ll see is that we’re going to schedule dedicated time each week when we as devs will be playing with the community and soliciting feedback.

We’re setting up a community council, made up of beta participants of all playstyles from casual to highly competitive players, who we’ll be working especially closely with. We’ll have more information on that council, as well as our weekly play schedule, soon.

Even though Crucible will be in closed beta, nothing is changing about the way you can engage with the game: you’re still welcome to stream, to share screenshots and clips, and to talk about what you experience in the beta.

This announcement means that Crucible will not be available on stores, new players will need to acquire the F2P game via a sign up in the game’s official website. The development team will also need the feedback of players in order to fix what’s broken, specially improve the performance on older systems.
