Among Us Could Be Launching Soon on Consoles

InnerSloth’s Forrest Willard has recently stated that the developer is aware of the fans’ request to develop a port of Among Us for PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo consoles.

“It’s something we’re starting to talk about,” he said. “But we’d have to write a system for like, quick comms. It’d basically be for randoms – like Rocket League.”

“I don’t know how or if we’d be able to implement console voice chat,” he finished. “One of the first things we wanna add is a friends list type account system because it’d be so hard to do it without that sh*t.”

Among Us

has been the surprise of the summer of 2020, the low budget game managed to bounce back from a disastrous launch where players couldn’t find enough players on the lobby to even start a game session. Thanks to streamers, the gaming community has given the party game an opportunity and the game has become a massive hit for InnerSloth.

The game is now free to play on iOS and Android, InnerSloth is using ads and microtransactions to fund the server’s costs and other maintenance costs.

The Steam version of Among Us tells a bigger picture of the incredible story of the party game after two years of its launch. At the moment of writing, the game is one of the top five games at Steam Charts, beating Grand Theft Auto V, Team Fortress 2, and Warframe.

Among Us has reached a peak of 388.385 players in September, and has over 66,503,499 total hours of betrayals and false accusations. Certainly, it’s InnerSloth’s best interest to stay relevant in an industry where trends change quickly and a game must keep adding content to stay on the player’s attention.
