Among Us Sequel Discarded Say InnerSloth

Among Us

developer, InnerSloth announced that a sequel for the massive indie-party-game hit will not happen anytime soon.

“The main reason we are shooting for a sequel is because the codebase of Among Us 1 is so outdated and not built to support adding so much new content.

However, seeing how many people are enjoying Among Us 1 really makes us want to be able to support the game and take it to the next level. We have decided to cancel Among Us 2 and instead put all our focus into improving Among Us 1. All of the content we had planned for Among Us 2 will instead go into Among Us 1. This is probably the more difficult choice because it means going deep into the core code of the game and reworking several parts of it.”

Among Us

has managed to bounce back from a disappointing launch thanks to streamers, the gaming community has given the party game an opportunity and the game has become a massive hit for InnerSloth.

The game is now free to play on iOS and Android, InnerSloth is using ads and microtransactions to fund the server’s costs, the developer will bet on more content to keep the momentum and make the game even more profitable.

The Steam version of Among Us tells a bigger picture of the incredible story of the party game after two years of its launch. At the moment of writing, the game is one of the top five games at Steam Charts, beating Grand Theft Auto V, Team Fortress 2, and Warframe. According to reports, Among Us could be launching on consoles soon.

Among Us has reached a peak of 388.385 players in September, and has over 66,503,499 total hours of betrayals and false accusations. Certainly, it’s InnerSloth’s best interest to stay relevant in an industry where trends change quickly and a game must keep adding content to stay on the player’s attention.
