Fair Weather Studios is pleased to announce the launch of a Kickstarter campaign for the upcoming game Ancient Frontier, it’s a $5,000 campaign that will allow future players to shape the final development of the game.

The original story of Ancient Frontier goes back to a late 1980’s Java game titled Silent Frontier created by our main programmer and designer. And developers are revisiting the story and update and give new content in both story, visuals, and developers are updating the story with new content in areas of visuals and game-play experience.

  • Dynamic initiative based turn based combat.
  • Over 35 unique ships to command.
  • Customize your play style by unlocking technologies in an extensive Tech Tree.
  • Two major factions and three sub-factions.
  • Large, detailed space maps to fight across.
  • Three different resources to manage.
  • Dozens of different weapon systems and abilities to control.

Check this teaser trailer here:

“Ancient Frontier is a cinematic turn-based strategy PC game with RPG elements set in the far future. You command the fleet with combat inspired by games like XCOM, Master of Orion or Age of Wonders. Players will explore, conquer, pillage, or liberate the frontiers of space. Take control of massive fleets of capital ships and support craft as you play through multiple campaigns. The crowdfunding campaign being run will be used to fund additional polish to the core game (adding voice acting, longer score, more missions and more) to help the final product be the game that fans and players deserve.

The goals of Ancient Fronier are to create greater depth in the lore we started with Bladestar and futher expand the universe. This will be our second project made with Unity.

Due to our great community out there we were Greenlit in just 6 days in August of 2016. We are still on track for a Q2 2017 release date, which is what we targeted back at the start of this year when work on this project was still in its infancy.”

For more information about the game check its official website.
