Anime Mashup Jump Force Being Removed From Digital Stores

While not the first time that the characters of the popular Shonen Jump anthology manga have fought each other, Jump Force set itself apart from its peers by featuring these characters fighting across settings on our Earth, with a more polished graphical quality to give then a more realistic feel over their usual cartoony veneer. It also featured a three-fighter team gimmick in which you mix and match characters, fighting opponents with a janken style strength and weakness system.

Released three years ago it looks like Namco Bandai will be pulling the plug on the title, pulling it from the digital storefront, and ceasing most of its online services. The news was announced via a blog post made by Namco Bandai on their Official website. They stated:

Everyone at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment would like to offer our sincere thanks to all Jump Force players and fans for their years of support. Today, we are announcing the end of Jump Force’s availability through digital purchase in the Americas. Jump Force will cease to be available for base game, DLCs and virtual currency purchase on 2/7/2022 at 5:00pm PST for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

If you have been interested in picking up the title digitally but have yet to take the plunge, you will have till February 7, 2022, to purchase the title. With holiday sales soon to arrive, it should not be a wallet breaker to grab the game before it leaves PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and Nintendo.

It was also stated that despite the online services, and online currency being ended, players will still have access to the “online battles” option. What functionality will remain with the mode remains to be seen when February 7 rolls around.
