Epic Games Store is following the policy of signing exclusive contracts with publishers to release digital versions of their titles only on EGS, which seems to have some interesting results in terms of sales for publishers. After that of World War Z acceptable sales on EGS, now new official data represents that Anno 1800 has also experienced considerable sales in its first week of release.
According to Ubisoft, Anno 1800 is the fast-selling title of the series with the greatest launch week among all entries of the franchise. Anno 1800 has sold four times more than Anno 2205 in first week. While the game was available for pre-order on Steam and other digital stores, Ubisoft decided to pull it out of any other stores, except Epic Games Store, just a few weeks before release. However, it seems the result was satisfying enough for the French company to attempt to publish its next titles on EGS too.
Anno 1800 is a city-building strategy game that allows you to rule your city as you wish and expand the boundaries of progression in the golden age of automatic industries. You are able build your city in any way that you want and trade with other countries and cities or declare war against them.
In response to the great reception of fans, the development team has promised to “focus on delivering the best post-launch content possible for Anno 1800.” The game is only available for PC via Epic Games Store.
