Respawn Entertainment has recently revealed the first details about Season 4 of Apex Legends.
Season 4: Assimilation is coming soon and include some goodies. A new playable character, Forge, and a brand-new weapon called “The Sentinel”. The new weapon is a bolt action sniper rifle. Apex Legends design director Jason McCord said in the Season 4 Reveal Devstream. Kings Canyon map will also return for the next season.
“So it feels really powerful, it’s got that cool animation where you cock it back, and it’s a little different than our other sniper rifles because it has a charge mechanic.”
The new character is called Forge. During the Season 4 Reveal Devstream, Apex Legends’ writer Tom Casiello dubbed him as “the exact opposite of Crypto“…”This guy, he’s a brawler, he gets up close and personal with you, he’s got a mean left hook, he’s a five-time Hyperfighting Federation Champion. Big personality.”
Crypto also has some connection with Titanfall, Casiello teases by saying that Forge has “conquered one world–the MMA world–and now he wants to conquer another one with the Apex Games. He’s also the first Legend we’re introducing who’s a corporate sponsor. His sponsor is Hammond Robotics.”
Respawn is celebrating Apex Legend’s first anniversary. Players have the chance to receive a free Anniversary Gift by logging from February 4 to February 11. Rewards are, 10,000 free experience points for the first match played, a Year One Origami Flyer charm and a special Year One Loyatly badge.
The developers also announced a big change to Apex Legends’ Ranked Mode. Season 4 starts on February 4, it will last three months, it will also split into two episodes. The first episode will start on World’s Edge. After players get their ranking, a reset will take place, players will have to grind all their way back, this time on King’s Canyon.
