will be hosting an in-game music fest, entitled the Fortnite Rift Tour, this weekend. To kick things off the studio has announced that Pop Singer and soon-to-be coach on The Voice, Ariana Grande will be headlining the event. The grammy-winning artist will be appearing in the game alongside millions of battle royale fans for a music experience that Epic promises will be unforgettable.
The Rift Tour will run between August 4th and August 6th and will feature popular music tracks blended into the game, similar to Fortnite concerts that have been produced in the past. With the headlining act comes several cosmetics, including a player skin of Grande, as well as Piggy Smalls backbling.
Ariana Grande stated about her upcoming performance:
Working with Epic and the Fortnite team to bring my music to life inside the game has been so fun and such an honor. I can’t wait to join my fans and see all of your reactions to such an unforgettable, magical journey to new realities.
the Rift Tour will be free to enjoy for any Fortnite players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Android. As you might have noticed IOS is absent due to the ongoing litigation between Epic and Apple, and as such will not be available through them.
Phile Rampulla, Epic Games Head of Brand stated:
“Fortnite is a place for the imagination and the impossible. With the Rift Tour, we’re bringing a musical journey to life that players can experience, feel, and join alongside their friends. We’re so grateful to have an iconic superstar like Ariana Grande and her team join us for a musical experience at metaverse scale, and for players and fans alike to experience the Rift Tour!”
Epic Games has promised more information about the event later this week, however, the Rift playlist will go live 30 minutes before the show starts.
