Ubisoft has already stated that there will be no new entry for Assassin’s Creed series in 2019, but it doesn’t mean there will be no leaks and rumors about it. If you search about the most trending leaks of today, definitely Assassin’s Creed: Ragnarok will appear at the top with its screenshots have gone viral all around Internet. The next installment in AC franchise, which was previously known as Assassin’s Creed: Kingdom, is set in Vikings era and its map covers Great Britain along with all Scandinavian countries.
According to what 4Chan has leaked, Assassin’s Creed: Ragnarok follows the story of a man who has a vital role in creation of Great Heathen Army and seemingly is one of the close allies of Ragnar Lodbrok. Unlike what we saw in Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, this time the protagonist will become an assassin and you will have access to hidden blade once again.
Ragnarok’s map covers Great Britain, Norway, Finland, Sweden and Denmark that are regionalized into several districts, each one with its own economy system and customization for the inhabitants. So it seems the previous leak about the game’s setting in Vikings era turns out to be true, as the map covers all the countries that are related to Vikings’ history.
When it comes to gameplay, 4Chan says that Assassin’s Creed: Ragnarok will utilize RPG elements same as recent entries of the franchise and ship combat will also be available, which is one of the popular parts of the gameplay in AC series as of Assassin’s Creed 3. However, it’s being said that ship combats won’t feature so much diversity, as the game wants to focus on looting and finding valuable items by delivering a challenging gameplay based on realistic sailing. Aside from ships, the game will also features co-op mode which seems to be available in side missions and explorations. Finally, 4Chan pointed out conquest battles as one of the ways in game that allows you to weaken the enemy’s control and influence on different parts of its under-control regions.
As the leak offers, Ubisoft Montreal is developing Assassin’s Creed: Ragnarok in collaboration with Ubisoft Sofia, which is working primarily on the post-launch DLCs of the game. The DLC will probably set in Iceland in which the player uses Yggdrasil to travel across 9 worlds of the Norse. In other news, 4Chan revealed that Ashraf is taking responsibility for creative director position, while Darby McDevvit is narrative director. The game will be reportedly come in 2020 to both current and next-gen platforms.
Finally, you can check the screenshots that are probably showcasing some footage of the gameplay for Assassin’s Creed: Ragnarok.
