Assassin’s Creed Rogue is getting a remastered release on PS4, Xbox One and PC. It will also take advantage of the additional power on offer via PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.
The game will include all previously released downloadable content: two bonus missions (The Armor of Sir Gunn Quest and The Siege of Fort de Sable), as well as the Master Templar and Explorer packs, which contain weapons, customisation items and special outfits, including Bayek’s legacy outfit from Assassin’s Creed Origins.
Assassin’s Creed Rogue tells the unique story of Shay Patrick Cormac, a fearless young member of the Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, who undergoes a dark transformation from an Assassin to a grim and committed Templar who hunts down his former brothers. Players’ journeys will take them from beautiful New York City to the Wild River Valley and icy cold waters of the North Atlantic.
Assassin’s Creed Rogue lifted from Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, once again focusing heavily on naval combat and piracy, although this time the action was moved from the Caribbean to the icy North Atlantic. The game also put a twist on the traditional Assassin’s Creed setup, casting players as Shay Patrick Cormac, an Irish Assassin who joins the Templars after being double-crossed by his brothers. Assassin’s Creed Rogue didn’t break a lot of new ground when it came to gameplay, but its story stood out as one of the series’ most unique and interesting.
Rogue was initially released in 2014 as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 counterpart to Xbox One and PlayStation 4’s Assassin’s Creed Unity. It later came to PC in early 2015.
