Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Could Include Beowulf

According to GamesRadar, Ubisoft’s German website for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla suggest a reference of the 6th century novel Beowulf. The novel tells the story of a epic hero of the Geats, a North Germanic tribe from the Middle Ages located in what we now know as Sweden.

Beowulf, a young warrior decides to help Hrothgar, the King of the Danes, as the kingdom is being destroyed by a monster called Grendel. Beowulf using his extraordinary strength and courage manages to slay the monster and he goes to slay Grendel’s mother who seeks revenge. The hero later becomes the King of Geats and rules for a peaceful fifty years.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the product of Ubisoft’s new editorial team, the publisher’s intention is to allow Creative Directors more freedom at their projects, Valhalla will be the first game to launch under the new direction. The game is being developed by the team behind Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag and Assassin’s Creed Origins at Ubisoft Montreal, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will take players on the saga of Eivor, a Viking raider raised on tales of battle and glory.

According to Ubisoft Montreal’s Creative Director  Ashraf Ismail,  Ubisoft has pushed” every single envelope to deliver ‘THE Viking experience”.

The Viking Age is an incredible time period. Assassin’s Creed always visits pivotal moments in history, and here we have a moment that gave shape to Europe and the England we know today… It’s a time of war, a time of politics, a time of alliances. In terms of the bread and butter of Assassin’s Creed, it’s a really potent time period for us to delve into the series’ lore and also show a time period that has rarely been seen.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

will release worldwide Holiday 2020 on Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and for Windows PC exclusively on both the Epic Games Store and the Ubisoft Store.
