, and for that matter the Megami Tensei franchise that spawned it have never been short on new projects in the works. While mainline titles in both series tend to take a while to release you can always expect spin-offs (or pachinko machines) to fill the void. This of course includes Persona 5 Strikers which was released early this year.
Well, if you are a Persona fan you have some good news coming your way. As the company celebrities the franchise’s 25 anniversary, they have laid down the groundwork for several projects to be revealed. The company opened a website to celebrate the event which you can check out here. If one simply scrolls down from the image of characters from the series, they reach a series of boxes.
The first box on this list has the date ‘2021/9’. This could mean that whatever this is indicating is coming in September, or possibly that it will be announced in September. The rest of the boxes are simply listed as coming soon. That is except for the last box which states ‘2022/Autumn’. What this is alluding to is anybody’s guess but I think we are all hoping this might finally be Persona 6.
It is important to note that not all of these might be games. Atlus often has major events such as live concerts using the Persona and Shin Megami Tensei soundtrack. There could also be live streams for the company in the works that perhaps fit into this. One rumor is that one of the projects will be a mobile game. Given the current trends and the volume of projects, this is not a surprising revelation.
With Persona 5 Strikers having been released though, it is unlikely that one of the projects will not be a spin-off of some kind. We will just have to wait and see what the Persona franchise has in store for us going forward.
