Left 4 Dead creators in collaboration with Warner Bros. are developing Back 4 Dead for the next generation of gaming consoles. Turtle Rock Studios is back again to develop a new online co-op zombie shooter, 3 years after their latest project Evolve, which published by 2K Games but couldn’t become as successful as Left 4 Dead.
According to David Haddad, President at Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Back 4 Blood will “advance the co-op zombie genre forward with innovative multiplayer gameplay” which sounds interesting according to the studios great resume on developing co-op shooters. Chris Ashton, Co-founder at Turtle Rock Studios, also published the following statement on their new announcement:
It’s hard to overstate what an awesome opportunity this is. We get to return to a genre that was born in our studio with over ten years of additional experience and zombie ideas racked up in our brains, we also have some of the best teammates in the business at WBIE who understand our development process and are equally committed to our player-first mentality. We love being able to announce, so we can start working with the community right away.
There are no certain details on Back 4 Blood yet, but Creative Director Phil Robb claims that the studio is “stepping up to the biggest challenge in it’s history” which will be followed by growing the number of the developers in the team.
There is no release date for Back 4 Blood yet but some rumors offer that the game will be an Epic Games Store exclusive on PC. For more information on the game follow our Twitter account and don’t forget to subscribe to our Youtube channel.
