Publisher Focus Entertainment and developer DON’T NOD have announced that the upcoming ghost themed action RPG Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden has been delayed from its previous November 7 release date to February 13, 2024. The publisher claims this is because “the market is experiencing an intense release cycle for AAA titles on PC and consoles at the end of the year.” Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam. In the game, players play as “a couple of Banishers. Antea Duarte and Red mac Raith are experienced spirit hunters, entrusted with the daunting task of lifting a malevolent and ominous curse.”
Focus Entertainment managing director John Bert and DON’T NOD CEO Oskar Guilbert commented on the announcement in a press release, saying:
“We have decided to postpone the release of this new franchise by three months, as the market is experiencing an intense release cycle for AAA titles on PC and consoles at the end of the year. We are convinced that a commercial release of Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden during a less saturated period will give it the attention it deserves.”
