Battlefield 2042 Will Have Ten-Hour Trial Period For EA Play And Game Pass Members

Those that can’t wait to drop straight the large-scale destruction and big battles of Battlefield 2042 will soon be able to do so provided that they are members of either the EA Play or Xbox Game Pass service. That is because both of these game services will be getting a 10-hour trial period for the game that will be starting on November 12.

This newly announced promotion for the upcoming FPS will run alongside a similar offer for EA Play Pro members, as well as one being given to players that pre-ordered the Gold or Ultimate edition of the game. Both of those groups will have complete access for the week leading up to the game’s release on November 19, players accessing through the basic EA Play and Xbox Game Pass will be capped at a total of 10-hours across the same week.

After their time has run out, players will be required to either purchase the full version of the game or upgrade to the EA Play Pro in order to continue playing. This shouldn’t be a big ask, considering 10 hours should be enough to decide if you like the game and want to continue playing.

Alongside the news of this early access trial, EA has released a new look at Battlefield 2042’s portal mode. Being developed by Ripple Effect Studios (formerly known as Dice LA), Portal mode draws from several games throughout the Battlefield franchise, allowing players to create their own modes using a vast array of assets at their disposal.  Several of the games used within this mode include Battlefield 1942, Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 3 as well as Battlefield 2042 itself. It definitely looks like a major selling point for the game.

Battlefield 2042 will officially launch on November 19, for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC.
