EA has confirmed to IGN that next year will see the release of a new Battlefield game. An EA representative said that DICE is “focused on the future of Battlefield that [it]’ll be bringing to players in 2021.” EA has not announced the supported consoles, is still uncertain if the next game will be next gen exclusive.
EA also revealed more information about the latest major update to land on Battlefield V and the Star Wars Battlefront II update:
“The team at DICE is working on the standalone Battlefield V update releasing this summer, and continuing their work on delivering Community Games,” … “While the studio’s vision for Star Wars Battlefront II is now complete with this week’s The Battle on Scarif Update, the servers, in-game challenges, recurring events and game support will continue as the game lives on with players and the community. We’re looking forward to hearing players’ stories for both games, for years to come.”
The Battle on Scarif DLC adds the new tropical planet mao from Rouge One to multiplayer, also adds a new hero and villain based on The Rise of Skywalker. The Age of Rebellion will also be available in Supremacy and Instant Action modes. Maps like tatooine, Yavin 4, Scarif, Death Star and Hoth will take the best from combat in the ground, but players will also be able to pilot starfighters.
Star Wars Battlefront II allows players to play as and against Star Wars’ most feared villains and cherished heroes in DICE’s rich multiplayer experience. The game features plenty of multiplayer modes, Starfighter Assault, Galactic Assault, Strike, Blast, Heroes vs. Villains, and Arcade are the fans favorite.
