The team is focused and the game is ahead of our internal milestones. […] I can tell you now that the Battlefield team is doing an incredible job. They’re way ahead of where they were in prior product cycles, on track for their earliest feature complete in franchise history.
On a recent episode of The XboxEra Podcast, Shpeshal Ed claimed that Xbox Game Pass will see the launch of a AAA first-person shooter in Fall 2021.
Jon Clarke, Co-Founder, and Editor in Chief of XboxEra add that when Ed said “triple-A, third party, first-person shooter,” there are only two franchises releasing games in 2021, Call of Duty and Battlefield.
“My other bet would be Battlefield VI because the EA Play relationship already exists,” Clarke explained. “And I’m sure Microsoft are sharing lots and lots of lovely numbers on what it does for a player base when you’ve got 20 million people immediately available to play your game.”
