Bethesda’s Inside the Vault blog post
has announced great news for Steam players, on April 14, Fallout 76 will be available on Steam for free for all players who currently own the game on the Bethesda.net. The developer also announced that players who activate their copy of Fallout 76 on Steam between April 14-28, will be able to claim Fallout 1, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics for free.
We want you to be able to play on your PC platform of choice.
All you will need to do is link your Bethesda.net and Steam accounts between now and 11:59 p.m. ET on April 12. You can do this by following our account linking instructions on Bethesda.net. Once Fallout 76 becomes available on Steam, PC players who linked their accounts by April 12 will automatically receive a copy of the game on Steam. We will let you know once we’re ready to send out Steam codes after the account linking period is over.
Bethesda also revealed additional information for Fallout’s 76 Wastelanders. It’s confirmed that allplayers will be able to experience the expansion for free on on April 14 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One through the Bethesda.net and Steam. The large expansion will be free for those who had acquired the standard or deluxe edition.
Wastelanders will introduce fully voiced NPCs, new locations, enemies, weapons and reputation system, a main quest-line will also be included. Check this trailer that explains the all new features of the Wastelanders expansion:
Players who switch to Steam will be glad to hear that all game progress carries to the new version. Atoms and Fallout 1st membership entitlements are the only parts which are not integrated “due to technical limitations”. Steam and Bethesda.net versions of the game will share the same friend list, so all PC players can play together, regardless of the launcher.
