It was released an in-engine demo of Beyond Good and Evil 2, the much anticipated prequel to 2003’s Beyond Good & Evil. After all these years, Ubisoft decided it was worth it keep building on the franchise.
Check out the gameplay video of Beyond Good and Evil 2, featuring some gameplay footage:
In the in-engine demo video we get to see our character on a jetpack as he moves across the game’s environment. This 14 and a half minute video show us a lot about how the game will control and what we can expect. One of the features showed in the video was the ability to board our spaceship and leave the atmosphere of the planet you’re on and actually go off into space. Once you reach space, you’ll have free control of where you want to go from there. The further away you are from the planet, the faster you can go since you aren’t restricted by its gravitational pull or anything else. Ubisoft plans on not having empty planets, but instead having planets that have life and are worth exploring.
No release date has been announced for the title and it wasn’t announced in which platforms the game will be released. It was rumored that the title would be a timed Nintendo Switch exclusive, but that rumor has since been debunked.
Beyond Good and Evil 2 will allow the player to choose between a male or female avatar and will have more RPG elements than its predecessor. Players will improve their attributes, gain new spacecraft and crew, which can also be upgraded over time. The game takes place in a shared universe, with some events that could affect other players in their individual games.
