BioShock: The Collection ‘Comparison’ Trailer

BioShock: The Collection ‘Comparison’ Trailer

After numerous fans remade areas from BioShock in Unreal Engine 4, 2K finally got the message and brought us BioShock: The Collection. This September, BioShock 1, 2, and Infinite will be available on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC in HD with all of the single-player DLC.

The trailer showcases the opening moments from the original BioShock, giving players an early look at a remastered Rapture while teasing similar improvements for sequels BioShock 2 and BioShock Infinite.

All three games will feature 1080p resolutions with frame rates “up to” and “targeting” 60 frames-per-second, suggesting that the trilogy won’t necessarily see consistent performance on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. All three games will also include redrawn art assets and textures from collaborative studio Blind Squirrel Games, in order to suit the advertised bump in resolution.

Check out the Trailer:

“As seen in the comparison trailer below, it seems as if 2K Games’ claim of the titles in BioShock: The Collection running at 1080p resolution and “up to 60 FPS” is accurate, for the visuals look to be a lot more detailed, while the frame rate runs in a much smoother capacity. However, it’s important to note that when BioShock: The Collection releases, the final product has the potential to appear much different than the footage being used to promote the games, especially when one considers the contrasts that are likely to occur between the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One platforms running the anthology.”
