Black Myth: Wukong Gets Awesome Gameplay Video

Black Myth: Wukong

blew us all away last year when the Chinese studio behind the game, Game Science Studio showcased it. Gamers who have been waiting to see even more of it can enjoy this 12 minute gameplay video posted by Nvidia to showcase the game.

Nvidia posted the video to their official youtube channel and boasted that the video showcases Deep Learning Super Sampling or DLSS which is Nvidia’s AI-powered upscaling tech. Not only that, this is a great look at a game running in Unreal Engine 5 and using this tech. The result is beautiful by the way as the game looks even more stunning now than a year ago.

For people that do not know what Black Myth: Wukong is, it is a semi-adaption of the classic Chinese epic Journey To The West. Players take the role of the Monkey King, or Sun Wukong, and battle their way with his signature staff named Ruyi Jingu Bang. Dragonball‘s lead character Son Goku was based largely on the Monkey King, though he is by no means the only character.

The game itself is influenced by From Software games such as Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice as well as Dark Souls. Gameplay seems to carry a more fast-paced speed to it as he is able to quickly swing his staff around him.

The demo primarily showcases a snowcapped area, very different than the region showcased in the first showcase, and shows a range of different enemies the Monkey King will fight. This all builds up to an epic boss battle against a Lung, or Chinese Dragon. Pretty much the Chinese mythology-inspired fight that you have always dreamed of watching in 4k with DLSS.

Unfortunately, the one thing missing from this trailer is the date or timeframe to expect it. However, Black Myth: Wukong is a game to keep our collective eyes on.
