According to a recent Bloomberg interview, developer Game Science’s Black Myth: Wukong sales have surpassed 18 million units sold in just two weeks of its release. The article cites the developer’s biggest external shareholder Daniel Wu of Hero Games. Additionally, according to the report, a DLC expansion of the game is also currently in development. “Wukong proves not only that we have top-notch game-making capabilities, but also we can tell a good story with Chinese elements,” said Wu in the interview. Black Myth: Wukong achieved a peak concurrent player count of 2,415,714 players on Steam, making it the most played single player game on the platform and the second highest concurrently played game on the platform. The game launched on August 20, 2024, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC. It’s worth noting this claim has yet to be confirmed by the developer.
