Game Science founder and CEO Feng Ji made a recent post on the Chinese media website Weibo to talk about the sucess and limitiations of Black Myth: Wukong. In the post, he thanked fans for their support and the slew of awards the game recieved since its launched. However, he also noted that the limitations of the Xbox Series S, specifically the “10GB shared memory” or RAM between its GPU and CPU, prevented the game from launching on the platfrom. “Although there were no big surprises, I was still a little bit emotional after taking them all,” said Feng Ji in the post via a translation on Reddit. “Your combat capabilities are so terrifying, and the only thing missing is the Xbox robe… It seems a bit inappropriate, but the 10 GB shared memory, without several years of optimization experience, it is really difficult to use it.” Black Myth: Wukong first launched on August 20, 2024 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The game has sold over 20 million copies since its launch. A DLC is also reportedly in development.
