Blizzard Appoints Cyberpunk 2077’s Creative Director

Blizzard Appoints Cyberpunk 2077’s Creative Director

According to Sebastian Stępień’s LinkedIn profile he is now working for Blizzard, Stępień is known for working as a Creative Director in the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077, he also worked for The Witcher. While we don’t have any information coming either from Blizzard or CD Projekt Red, tomorrow we surely get an official statement from Blizzard once this becomes viral.

The project likely is not one that has already been announced, but it is easy to speculate that Stępień’s skills might make a lot of sense on the rumored Diablo projects in the works at the company, especially with Blizzard suggesting they’re looking to shake up the standard formula.

Stępień had been at CDPR for 12 years prior to his departure, which LinkedIn does not list a date for on his profile. He helped shepherd the entire Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077 as a dialogue writer, narrative director, story designer, and creative director. It will be interesting to see what he has in store at Blizzard.

What do you think Stępień will do at Blizzard? They recently were looking to hire graphic designers and animation artist among others, something big is coming from Blizzard and this might indicate the fourth installment in the Diablo Series might be in the early stages of development, if not, do you think Stępień will be tasked to developing a new IP?
