Gamescom 2019 could be titled as the third-best gaming event in the world after expos like E3, Tokyo Game Show and probably Paris Game Week, but for this year, the European event will start for the first time with an opening show, hosting by Jeoff Keighley, that somehow raise the hype rate for the expo. However, as some developers skipped E3 2019, some others like Blizzard decided to leave Gamscom 2019.
According to a new post on the website for the team behind Overwatch, the well-known developer and publisher won’t attend at Gamescom 2019 and the action seems to be an outcome for the previous lay-off that happened in Blizzard. The company has decided to fully focus on its next games and projects which we will get know more of them “when the time is right.” The statement said:
As part of a renewed effort this year to maintain our focus on development, for our current games and our future projects, we won’t have a booth at gamescom 2019. We’re also looking forward to sharing more details about the projects we’re currently working on when the time is right.
Although Blizzard skips one of the important events of 2019, fans didn’t miss anything worthy, as the developer tends to announced its big projects at BlizzCon and with the decision for Gamescom 2019, it seems the upcoming exclusive event for Blizzard has so much to show for the fans.
While a sequel for Overwatch or another new IP for next-generation is possible to be revealed, fans are awaiting for the official confirmation for Diablo 4.
