Publisher Ziggurat Interactive and developer Big Boat Interactive have announced that BloodRayne: ReVamped 1 And 2 will be sinking their teeth into consoles this November. The two titles, originally released in the early 2000s, were previously released last year on the PC.
Being remasters of the cult classic game series they are not rebuilt from the ground up or offer experiences unfamiliar to people that have played the series back in the day. Instead, they are polished versions of the original games improved to run on modern hardware. While maintaining most of the original visuals they will support 4k, upscaled cinematics, improved lighting, and effects such as reflections and fog.
The gameplay will remain unchanged from the original versions, serving as a love letter to fans of the series who want to dive back in without having to plug their old console in. The WayForward sidescrolling game BloodRayne: Betrayal from 2011 also received a remastered release this year, meaning that next month all games in the series will be accessible on modern platforms.
BloodRayne: ReVamped and BloodRayne: ReVamped 2 will be available on November 18 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and the Nintendo Switch. While the games will release digitally, physical versions of the game will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Switch through Limited Run Games. While no prices have been confirmed at this time the games were previously $14.99 on PC, known as Terminal Cut on steam.
Ziggurat acquired the BloodRayne IP in 2020 and has already been active in reminding the industry about BloodRayne. While there is no way of actually knowing what plans they might have for the series at this point, hopefully, these remasters will prove popular enough to see the game return with a new entry in the series, or possibly a full remake.
