Huge wave of Epic Games Store exclusivity is taking everywhere within gaming industry and players are not happy with what’s happening right now, so are Steam and other popular stores around the world available for PC gamers. Maybe when Epic Games announced its more revenue share for developers back in 2018, we wouldn’t thought this could end up here, but publishers seem very happy with the policy that pull out their games from other stores and close pre-orders to be exclusively on EGS.
When you limit choices for players, they will find a way to show you how mad they are at you, in such a situation, some contact with publisher or developer directly, some start a petition and some review-bomb previous titles of the studio, and Gearbox’s case is exactly the last one.
After Gearbox announced that Borderlands 3 will be Epic Games Store exclusive, fans started to review-bomb Borderlands, Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel on Steam to express their feelings on the decision.
Absolutely its something that 2K should deal with as publisher of the game and Gearbox has nothing to do except developing the game in its best shape. While most of EGS exclusive have one-year contract with the store, Borderlands 3 will be available on Steam and other stores six months after launch.
