Borderlands 3: Ceo Pitchford Says Nintendo has “Other Priorities”

Gearbox CEO Doesn’t See Borderlands 3 Coming to Nintendo Switch

According to Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford Borderlands 3 isn’t likely to release on Switch due to others priorities at Nintendo, CEO Pitchford said when asked by a fan on Twitter about Borderlands 3 for the Nintendo Switch.

Here is what CEO Pitchford said: “I do not see that as happening. We were talking to Nintendo, but that stopped for some reason. They have other priorities.”

In April of last year, Pitchford confirmed the next entry of the saga and called it “the big one,” and is being developed “specifically for next-gen consoles.”

There is minimal official information about Borderlands 3. Gearbox Software has, however, hinted that the game is in development and has been since sometime in 2015, with the company hiring for developers.

Pitchford confirmed at the April 2016 PAX East convention that a Borderlands sequel will be Gearbox’s next game after Battleborn,  Battleborn’s art director Scott Kester will be doing the same for this title, with a story written by Mikey Neumann (who also acts as the voice of Scooter), and directed by Randy Varnell. It’s worth mentioning that in April 2015, the creator and franchise director of the Borderlands series, Matt Armstrong, left Gearbox Software.
